The Karlsruhe University of Music mourns the death of
Professor Péter Eötvös

From 1992 to 1998, Professor Péter Eötvös was director of the Ensemble for 20th Century Music and the Institute for New Music at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Between 2002 and 2008, he held a teaching position for conducting.
Inner richness, warmth, musicality, cosmopolitanism, a deep interest in people, a willingness to question his own points of view and to learn from others characterised him just as much as his enthusiasm for supporting young musicians. Those who met him felt that they were being listened to and embarked on a creative journey with him.
The Karlsruhe University of Music remains grateful to Péter Eötvös.
