Martin Wacker already gained experience in cabaret, musical and chanson as a student at the Helmholtz Music Gymnasium in Karlsruhe. Participation in a chanson talent workshop with Peter Horton at the invitation of the SDR made an early impression on him. He graduated from high school as a recipient of the Helmholtz Medal of Honor. After a traineeship, he worked at various radio stations as a presenter and editor – to this day he maintains his weekly talk format every Sunday on "Neue Welle". At the same time, Martin Wacker performed as an actor and musical performer mainly in productions of the private Sandkorn-Bühne, guest engagements at the Badisches Staatstheater (Frosch in "Die Fledermaus") and at the Ettlinger Schlossfestspiele as well as various TV roles followed. His more than 30 years of work in the cabaret duo "rastetter & wacker", which enjoys cult status thanks to numerous programs of its own, has had a formative influence. At the same time, he works as an event manager and producer of major events such as the City Birthday 2015, the Heimattage Baden-Württemberg, DAS FEST, the Schlosslichtspiele Karlsruhe and the opening of the Karlsruhe Trade Fair as well as being responsible for the communication of events in sports and culture from the Tour de France 2005 to art Karlsruhe. Martin Wacker is a member of the jury of the media art festival "Season of Media Arts", the BBBank Young Talent Award of the Schlosslichtspiele and the environmental award "Green Pyramid" of the city of Karlsruhe. He is the managing director of Karlsruhe Marketing and Event Gesellschaft – and known to many as the stadium voice of KSC. In 2016, he was awarded the title "Badener des Jahres" for his work.
