The musicians of the Fauré Quartet are pioneers in many ways. After they had come together in 1995, right at the beginning of their studies in Karlsruhe in Gabriel Fauré's 150th anniversary year, they quickly realized that new repertoire worlds could be explored in this combination. In 2006, the Fauré Quartet signed a contract with Deutsche Grammophon and had thus entered the Champions League of the classical music business. The result was recordings that set new standards. World tours carry this expertise into the distance, and international master classes pass it on to students. The members also teach at the Universities of the Arts in Berlin and Essen. Furthermore, the artistic direction of the Rügen Festival Spring is part of their activities, as is their work as Quartet in Residence at the Karlsruhe University of Music. The quartet makes guest appearances in the most important venues of the international concert world, from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt and the Berlin Philharmonie to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and Wigmore Hall in London.
